My postings will be things that I have heard, seen, or read that have inspired introspection and reflection. My goal is to practice living mindfully and in the "now." They may come in the form of a quote or just a random thought to reflect on. Written with hope that something I write or post will not just help me, but others on a similar path. I am hopeful that others will share their thoughts and inspirations with me. - Janice Brodowsky

A Real Friend, by Janice Brodowsky
A real friend is someone who tells you that they will always be your friend, even if you haven't spoken in a long time. They understand that sometimes life leads you through twists and turns, and still cares about you even if you get "lost" for a while. That is a friendship that is to be treasured.
May we all have at least one friend like that....

Humor, The Best Medicine by Janice Brodowsky
"Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keep friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment."
Greenville Kleisser
How very true! Thank God for humor, as the alternatives aren't very funny. I believe there is an element to humor that not only helps us cope with pain, but can be healing as well. Think about the last time you laughed, and I mean laughed hard. The after effects of laughter and humor lifts us out of dark places, even if only momentarily.

When all else fails, my silly cat makes me laugh. Although this isn't a picture of her, she knocks things off of tables and counters all the time. The expression on her face after she does this is priceless, as she always looks at what my reaction will be when she does it. How can you not laugh!
